Doing Things Wrong

WordPress 5.9

WordPress 5.9 just dropped. A 0.1 release like this always makes me nervous, but you can't hold back the tide, so I tested it on another site, and nothing broke. At least I haven't found anything yet. So I updated this site, and everything still works, at least at a glance.

Looks like, as usual, they just crammed a lot of new crayons in the box, nothing that I would use. Honestly, I am light-years ahead of them, and don't expect them to ever catch up. I just worry that their sideways upgrades will break something.

These three pieces will go together as shown to make a very strong angled headstock. This construction, known as a 'scarf joint', sandwiches the headstock between the neck and the fretboard. Unless the glue fails ( which has been known to happen ) this joint will never break. It also has the advantage of being very economical, as the neck piece only needs to be as wide as the neck, not the headstock. You can use 2-1/2" (3") lumber for the neck and 5-1/2" (6") for the headstock.
