Doing Things Wrong

Website Design Finally Finished

Here is a screen capture of this site running in a phone-sized Android virtual machine on my laptop. The site adapts perfectly to every screen size and every device, from a dinky smartphone all the way up to the biggest PC, with no loss of usability. Yet the code behind it is bit-for-bit exactly the same on every display. That's pretty incredible.

Oak

Here is a piece of oak from Home Depot. I grain-filled it with several coats of water-based ( non-yellowing ) poly, sanding in-between until it is as smooth as plastic, which it now is in a way. I used water-based that because that was the first can I laid my hands on. Otherwise, I have a very low opinion of the stuff. I'm really only using it as grain-filler here.
